BorderSenses

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

BorderSenses Literary and Arts Journal is an annual print publication that provides a venue for emerging and established writers/artists from the U.S.-Mexico border area and beyond to share their words and images.

We seek poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and book reviews in both Spanish and English from every corner of the world. We also highlight a diversity of visual artists. Translations can be accepted, provided that the original author has consented to publication rights and reprinting.

As always, reading previous issues of the journal is the best way to get a sense of the kind of work we are looking for. Current and back issues may be purchased on our website: bordersenses.com

BorderSenses is published in the fall of each year. Writers/artists selected for each issue will receive a contributor copy.

The submission period for Volume 22 is January 15, 2016 to June 15, 2016.

Please note that authors and artists published in the most recent issue will not be considered for the subsequent issue.  Previously published authors and artists may submit every other reading period.

Limit one submission per genre per reading cycle with the exception of poetry, which allows for up to three submissions. Additional submissions will be automatically rejected. Simultaneous submissions allowed. If accepted elsewhere, please withdraw your work immediately via our Submittable site.

Submissions that do not meet the guidelines will not be considered.

By accepting publication, you give permission to the organization to use your work and name to promote the journal (online and in print).
